Pane Of Separation

This is my quarantine artwork, symbolic of being separated from the rest of the world during this pandemic. A pane of glass, emphasized by the raindrops and the leaf, separates the cold, wet rain outside from the warm, dry and SAFE inside. The reference photo came after an early fall walk between rain showers in Indiana. I liked the idea of raindrops becoming the background of a drawing but with the added leaf, the window itself become the subject. The outside versus the inside was an interesting idea but I had no idea how prophetic this would be half a year later.
